Pull tabs in Florida run under charitable gaming rules, not commercial casino rules. That means the games are operated by or for licensed nonprofit organizations: veterans posts, fraternal orders, volunteer fire departments, booster clubs, and similar groups. The proceeds are supposed to fund the organization's charitable mission, not a private owner's bottom line.
Practically, this shapes where you find the games. A licensed nonprofit with its own building is the most likely place to see pull tabs running consistently. A random sports bar with no nonprofit attached to it is the least likely.
The format itself is the same as anywhere else. You buy a paper ticket, pull open the perforated windows, and compare the symbols against the flare posted at the counter. Winners get paid on the spot. Prices usually run from $1 to $5 per tab.
Where to Find Them
The heaviest concentration is at VFW posts, American Legion posts, Elks and Moose lodges, and Eagles aeries. Florida has hundreds of these across the state, from the Panhandle down through Central Florida and into the Gulf Coast retirement communities. Many of them run games during regular post hours, and most VFW and Legion posts have a public bar that anyone can walk into.

If you are heading somewhere specific, calling ahead is worth the two minutes. Unlike Minnesota, where pull tabs are a near-guarantee at any VFW, Florida venues vary a lot in whether they are running games on a given week.
